WHO AM I.heic

Who am I?

I am a 22-year-old actor, singer, songwriter, dancer, musician, producer, playwright, bundle of joy from Santa Clarita, CA. I grew up with my Mom, Dad, Aunt, and Cousin. I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder when I was four and a half years old, and I've always processed life's challenges in a unique way. I love video games, trying out new foods, and, most of all, making art. A lot of my early life was filled with dark moments, and turning to art and creativity was (and is) the answer to all my problems. The long and short of it is...

Art saved my life.

When I was in the fourth grade, the elementary school choir was the first outlet I found where I could be myself without others thinking I was strange. I got the solo for "Loch Lomond," and the first time I sang in front of an audience and they cheered for me, I fell in love. I sang my heart out in that choir until junior high, when I started doing show choir. Dance wasn't kind to me at first, and I grew to love it more as I practiced. My first ever theatre production was of the musical Bye Bye Birdie. I was the Mayor, and after catching my wife fainting over Conrad Birdie fifty times over, I knew this is what I wanted to do. I've come to know musical theater as one of the most unique, boundless art forms there is. It's an avenue for us to embody parts of us we didn't know were there. It has shown me some of the most beautifully simple, yet viciously complex, aspects of humanity and what we're capable of. When I started out in my time at Ohio University, I started writing songs and plays. They've both become such important outlets for the organization of my ideas. I'm so thankful for all of the opportunities I've been given to make and experience art. My life would not be the same without it.
